firstly, the server is still regularly crashing, but i think you know that already  :).

May be just my internet connection, but living in the US i don't think that is it. The server keeps appearing offline for me and I get kicked a lot while playing.

I know mate, i know.  Its actually not the server crashing.  For some odd reason, the java application is being force-bly killed and i cant for the life of me figure it out :\

Would recommend using Minecart mania over traincarts, due to past experience with the plugin: http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/minecartmania-reborn/

Would also recommend using a plugin based system rather than a mod, as it makes things more complicated when updating.

As far as rail mods/plugins go, minecart mania is pretty cool, but railcraft blows it out of the water in a huge way, as long as we have a stable port.

I definitely concur re:elevators.  The dynamic elevators mod just isn't working.  There are plenty of bukkit elevator plugins that work exactly like DE, but don't require a port or client mod, and usually work independent of minecraft version.

read the server news, dv8 is using a bugged dev version because he is the main porter on the mod and does not want our elevators to disappear in the world.

i have had previous experience with traincarts, and as far as i can see, train carts can do everything minecart mania can do plus it includes minecart linking. and i have to agree with you that a plugin is the best way to go ( less of a headache for everyone)

So, what this conversation boils down to is...

Traincarts plugin is being installed.  I really like the idea of minecart linking and calling.

Im lighting a fire under the butt of the DEV of Dynamic Elevators to get his stuff in order.  Hes been busy with school and stuff, which makes sense, but this is coming to a point that we might have to drop this amazing mod.

Ill look into a few plugin elevators.

Just for my sake, to make sure im not on the wrong foot, y'all like the dynamic elevators when they WORK right?  just want to make sure that we dont have the mod for nothing.

Yea, bukkit had a problem in RB1.3 that caused 100% CPU usage after not very long.  This was causing the crashing.  This was fixed in later RB builds of bukkit.  It was only recently moved into the MCPC builds when we merged RB 3.1 into the MCPC builds.

tl;dr Yea, i found and killed the bug :D
