Hey,

there are short tutorials on our wiki for the server and client. If something is unclear let us know.

You need the custom build from our Github ("Download MCPC builds" at the top). The normal CraftBukkit can't handle mods. The client get's modded like usual, there are plenty of tutorials on the net for that.
ID conflicts must be handled by hand. Most mods offer a config to adjust block and item IDs.

because no one in the server wants to downgrade to 1.2.5 so if you are going to update it to 1.3 or the new minecraft update soon that would be great

It's nothing to do with the porters. Forge needs finalised (may already been done - i've been away for a few days). Then the makers of the mods need to update to the latest version, to enable the porters to get porting.

There's nothing wrong with 1.2.5 nor is there that much exciting stuff being added to 1.3.2 to rush things!

To be honest if I were a mod creator, I would be holding off until 1.4. Screw updating once, then updating again to the new API.
