Been seeing the rush over the weekend, with everyone updating there minecraft and a couple of bugs that creeped into the port version of forge, which means everyone will have to keep on visiting the forum until they can update again and then have to keep on visiting the site until all the mods they are playing are updated.

Now we have a built in newsletter system  but I don't want to use that because it will send the newsletter to everyone, so I was thinking of perhaps bringing in an additional newsletter that can be used for updating purposes, but to set it all up is time consuming so I need to find out if there are in fact anyone interested in signing up for a newsletter that will email you with all the latest updates on the forum.

Please let me know what you think if the response is overwhelming I will go ahead an set it all up.

Sounds great! Dont worry about how much people vote. One vote from server administrator is more then 1 vote. I have 2 x 100slots IC2 & BC server. We use your ports and respect you for porting mods. Your success is success for us. Faster we know about update, faster we update our servers and more people will recpect you. Thanks again for good job.

Actually more like faster you get updates the faster we can beta test them again and do the bug hunting to get more stable versions out.

Sorry, just lately noticed some crap code in modding section, including forge and modloader  and if there is some crap code you have to port then well. You do your best to even fix some of those bugs with porting that are in SSP/Vanilla SMP versions :)

A newsletter would be a nice touch (and I voted Yes), but what would be really helpful might be RSS or Twitter feeds, though I'm sure not everyone wants to see every update that occurs.

after a few minutes of google I found this http://twitterfeed.com/ its a service that takes an rss feed and outputs topics to twitter. there are a few of these sites around but it may be the way to go easy to setup and leave running and best of all it gets the content out there quickly!

I like the twitter idea more than the newsletter idea so will look into it.

I think this would be good butt another thing that I would personally  prefer is just a simple way to get the latest news like approximate time till the newest build for instance the 1.3.1 using something on the site for instance a twitter scroll bar showing your latest posts on the side. I personally never check my email or go on twitter so this would help me for sure.
